How do you embody God’s call to live together in peace in your life? Peacefulness is both an everyday practice for an individual and a deliberate response to injustice, fear, and hatred.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
– Matthew 5:9
Become a peacemaker. Join us as we pray, study, and take action in our communities, our church, and the world. Together we are called to do justice, dismantle violence, and strive to create a culture of peace.
The Book of Common Prayer tells us “the mission of the Church is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.” We do this work as part of the ministry of mission here in the Diocese of Maryland and beyond. Together, we are committed to continuing the work of the 2014 Reclaiming the Gospel of Peace (http://www.anglicannews.org/news/2014/04/reclaiming-gospel-of-peace-wraps-up-in-oklahoma-city.aspx) event in Oklahoma City. We share resources and work with the Episcopal Peace Fellowship (http://epfnational.org/).
The non-violence group, now called Reclaiming the Gospel of Peace has a list of events coming up this fall. Please contact the Rev. Lauren Welch and Laura McGuire for details and information. Please visit our Facebook Page
