Diocesan Center and Cathedral of the Incarnation

The Diocesan Center
The Diocesan Center is the meeting place for many diocesan committee meetings, workshops and conferences: The Standing Committee, Program & Budget Committee, the Commission on Ministry, and the Property Committee meet monthly. A group of women, The Needles, gathers here to sew altar linens. The Companions of the Holy Cross, Exploring Baptismal Ministry and Discerning our Vocation hold their meetings here regularly.   The Urban Missioners’ annual commissioning is held at the Center. Church vestries (and churches from other denominations as well) hold their retreats here. St. Bede’s Books is also located here.

Outreach to the larger community is as important to the mission of the center as our support for the diocesan family. The University of Maryland Institute of Human Virology HIV/STD prevention workshops meet several times a year.  The Coalition for Homeless Families and Children, Baltimore Substance Abuse,  Ecumenical Leaders Group, Alternative Directions, and Community Mediation are among the many groups who expand the ministry of the diocese in the world around us.

The Cathedral of the Incarnation
The Cathedral Church of the Incarnation is the seat of the Bishop of Maryland and shares a campus with our Diocesan offices. As the seat of our bishop and a parish, our cathedral is the site of frequent meetings and events as well as worship services. In the midst of the very active life of our diocese, our Cathedral community remains committed to opening its doors to the surrounding community and being a holy place in the public square. Visit the Cathedral’s Web Site Here
